Event space is available in the double-gallery & courtyard. Nearly every item available is produced in-house, from art & cards, to frames & gifts!
When you enter the shop, you’ll most likely be greeted by the charming Store Manager, Marcy Baumgartner. She has a wonderful design/color sense to help clients select the very best choice for matting & framing of their photos, posters, fine art or memorabilia. Marcy has an Associate Degree in Graphic Design and is a stickler for detail and efficiency! She’s the one in charge of finishing the frames to perfection and keeping things organized. The shop owners are: Ron Mertz, working in his studio-just-around-the-corner; & Nancie King Mertz, the featured artist of the gallery, who is in the shop 7 days a week framing & painting, when she’s not painting in the city or other points of interest around the globe!
Ron Mertz
Ron is the owner of ArtDeTriumph (est. 2000) and the publisher of all of the prints and cards in the shop. He photographs Nancie’s originals with a very high-resolution digital camera, photo-edits the file until it matches the original, and then stores the file until the original is sold. ArtDeTriumph’s policy is to release Giclée prints only after the sale of the original, although’ the 5×7 Fine Art Cards are available as soon as the painting is finished.
Ron prints each Giclée and card one-at-a-time using archival inks, papers and canvas to maintain the highest quality. He has a consulting background with a Masters in Accounting, and works constantly on the computer. To contact Ron: 773-477-8990, Ron@ArtDeTriumph.com
Nancie King Mertz
Nancie is owner of Artful Framer Studios (est. 1979), is the featured artist of the Gallery/Store, and constructs all customer’s frames and her own. You can find her at the shop working with framing clients, creating new paintings, joining frames, cutting mats & glass. She began the framing business while a student and was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 1999, “Small Business of the Year 2000”, and “Artist of the Year 2005-2006” by the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau. In 2008, she was chosen as “Business Person of the Year” by the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce.
Nancie has a Master’s degree in painting and taught 3 years on the college level. Her award-winning work is in collections worldwide and has been featured in books & magazines.
While Chicago has remained her favored city to paint, her work has been inspired by travels to nearly 20 countries including Europe, China & Mexico.
